Chief Information Security Officer
Anduril Industries · Costa Mesa, California, United States
About the role
Anduril is hiring a Chief Information Security Officer to build and run an engineering-led security organisation for the defense technology company. The CISO reports to the Chief Information Officer and owns information security end to end across Information Security, Network Engineering & Infrastructure, IT and Cyber Compliance, protecting more than 70 sites and over 10,000 employees in classified and unclassified settings.
The work starts with a strategy against threats that range from nation-state actors to insiders, and with pulling those four groups into one organisation arranged around outcomes rather than silos. The CISO owns detection and response, a continuously updated cyber risk framework with clear reporting to executives, and compliance with government obligations including NIST 800-171, CMMC, ISO 27001, FedRAMP and DoD requirements, serving as the senior contact for government partners on cyber matters. Security is expected to be built into software delivery and infrastructure rather than checked afterwards, and corporate IT, networks and endpoints have to stay protected as offices, factories and test sites multiply. The role partners with the CIO and with the Chief Security Officer so that cyber, physical and personnel protections fit together.
Anduril wants 15 or more years of security leadership, including time as a CISO or similar at a technology or defense company, or senior cyber leadership in the military or intelligence community, with real technical depth across network, application, cloud, identity and security operations. Candidates must hold or be able to obtain a Top Secret SCI clearance. Based in Costa Mesa, California.
