The role works with infrastructure, development and business teams to build security into technology projects, evaluates new security technologies, manages relationships with vendors, partners and regulators, and owns the operating and capital budgets for its area. Hiring, coaching, performance reviews and succession planning for the team are part of the job.

Atlas Air wants more than ten years in information security, at least five of them in architecture or engineering and seven or more leading cybersecurity or application security teams. Experience with AWS, Azure or GCP and hybrid networks, threat modelling, IAM, application security tooling, CI/CD and containers is expected, as is managing a security budget and explaining technical risk to non-specialists. Aircraft cybersecurity, NIST knowledge and certifications such as CISSP, CSSLP or SABSA are welcome but not required.
