Engineering Manager, AI CICD

Chainguard  ·  United Kingdom - Remote; United States - Remote

About the role

Leads an engineering team at Chainguard, the software supply chain security company, that builds products where security and AI meet: the Guardener, hardened GitHub Actions, Chainguard Agent Skills and new products on the company's microVM sandbox platform. The role is remote in the US or UK.

The manager owns this portfolio end to end, from roadmap through build, rollout and iteration. That means hiring and growing a small team of strong engineers, clearing blockers, and setting a deadline-driven roadmap with Product while helping the team make trade-offs and ship in increments. The manager stays hands-on, reviewing designs and pull requests and prototyping when it helps, works through ambiguous problems without waiting for full specs, and is accountable for the quality and reliability of what ships. Staying close to customers and feeding what they say straight into the roadmap is part of the job.

Chainguard wants at least two years managing engineers, evidence of having shipped products or large features and owned how they performed, and enough technical strength to read code and reason about architecture, with Go skills or the ability to pick them up fast. A background in CI/CD, developer tooling or product platforms, working knowledge of containers, Kubernetes and the cloud, and real enthusiasm for AI tooling are expected.
