Executive Director, Head of Cybersecurity Operations

CLS Group  ·  Iselin, New Jersey, United States; London, England, United Kingdom

About the role

Heads Cybersecurity Operations at CLS, the department responsible for proactive threat detection, incident response and forensics in defence of the firm's FX settlement services. The role carries the corporate title Executive Director, reports to the CISO US Services, and can be based in Iselin, New Jersey, or London.

The head sets the department's strategy and framework as the threat picture shifts and is accountable for several programmes: cyber incident response and the controls around it; the information security incident response programme, including the DLP and UEBA rules and policies that feed it; a purple team that pairs offensive exercises with control improvements; and the detective controls and engineering function, which writes custom rules across the security tooling for threats surfaced by the proactive defence team. People leadership covers hiring, careers, training and certification for staff and supporting consultants. The role also manages critical vendors and third-party security integrations, works with governance bodies, and produces executive metrics on posture, detection and response. During incidents the head gives the operations team and stakeholders clear direction.

CLS wants 15 or more years in cybersecurity or SOC roles, at least ten of them leading, ideally inside banks, central banks, regulators or other market infrastructure. Hands-on depth in SIEM and SOAR, cloud and endpoint security, malware analysis and digital forensics is expected, and CISSP, CISM, GIAC or CEH are valued. The role needs two office days a week.
