Forward Deployed Security Engineer - US Government
Palantir Technologies · Washington, D.C.
About the role
Gets Palantir software authorized for use by US government customers, owning the Authorization to Operate (ATO) process across several agencies with little oversight. The Forward Deployed Security Engineer turns regulatory language such as NIST 800-53 and CNSSI 1253 into concrete requirements for developers and system engineers, writes System Security Plans, architecture diagrams and other evidence, and represents Palantir in government assessments and audits. The role also briefs executives on compliance and technical risk and shapes security architecture plans alongside business development.
It requires an active DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance with willingness to go higher, proven government cybersecurity experience, and travel to customer sites of about 25 percent. Hands-on security engineering with SIEM/SOAR, Kubernetes and multi-cloud is valued. Based in Washington, DC.
