About the role
A platform engineer in GuidePoint Security's Federal region who designs and runs Illumio Core and Illumio Edge micro-segmentation for a government client across on-premises, virtual and cloud environments. The engineer maps application dependencies, builds labelling schemes and enforcement boundaries, analyses VEN traffic data to cut lateral movement, integrates Illumio with SIEM, SOAR, CMDB and scanners, onboards workloads with application owners, handles upgrades and troubleshooting, and aligns policy with NIST 800-207 zero trust strategy.
An active TS/SCI clearance and willingness to take a polygraph are required, plus five or more years in security, cloud or infrastructure engineering, Linux, Windows and virtualisation skills, and automation with Ansible, Terraform or scripting. Fully on site in Reston, Virginia or Washington, DC.
