Lead AI Security Engineer

Lead AI Security Engineer on Appian's AI SOC Engineering team, building an agentic security operations center that triages, correlates and responds to threats with AI agents working alongside human analysts. The engineer designs and deploys agents connected to SIEM, EDR, XDR and threat intelligence, turns SOC playbooks into multi-agent pipelines, builds production RAG workflows with security context and incident history, tunes model performance and cost, engineers escalation to Tier 3 analysts and threat hunters, and secures the LLM stack against prompt injection and the OWASP Top 10 for LLMs.

Appian wants four or more years of software engineering including at least a year and a half building LLM applications, five years of Python, and two years deploying AI on cloud platforms. On site five days a week in McLean or Tysons, Virginia.
