Partner 20, Staff Security Engineer, AI & Security Platform

Leads security automation across a16z's security organisation, working alongside IT, SecOps, incident responders, the Security Engineering Lead and the firm's Applied Software Group so that a small team can operate at much larger scale. The engineer connects SIEM, EDR, identity, vulnerability scanning and asset data with foundation models into one actionable view, builds dashboards covering assets, vulnerability posture and compliance evidence, automates large problems such as vulnerability management, asset hygiene and access reviews, and helps colleagues use AI in their own work.

The firm wants five or more years of security engineering centred on building tools, strong Python, broad security fundamentals, hands-on LLM development and an understanding of AI security risks. Hybrid, two days a week in San Francisco.
