The engineer designs hardened OS builds for varied hardware, strips unneeded components from kernel and user space, writes SELinux, AppArmor and custom LSM policies, runs full-disk encryption, builds OS attestation and integrity monitoring, patches and hardens kernels, designs secure boot and trusted execution, works with container teams on kernel-level isolation, sets privilege separation and mandatory access control, and builds compliance tooling.

Anthropic wants deep Linux internals and security framework knowledge, kernel hardening and exploit mitigation, strong C, eBPF for monitoring and enforcement, virtualization and container security, and a record of finding and fixing OS vulnerabilities. Five or more years in OS security or kernel work is preferred.
