About the role
A senior individual contributor at Banner Bank who sets the direction for securing the bank's AI adoption and its Azure cloud estate, guiding development, infrastructure and security teams. The role is remote but limited to Washington, Idaho and Oregon.
The engineer defines security architecture for AI systems and Azure, puts guardrails and runtime protections around agentic tools such as Claude, GitHub Copilot and in-house agents, leads threat modelling, reviews AI-generated code, and builds monitoring with Defender for Cloud and Sentinel into DevSecOps pipelines. Banner wants eight or more years across security engineering, secure SDLC and Azure security, including governing controls for AI and agentic systems. Banking experience and CISSP or similar are preferred. Travel is up to 20 percent.
