Principal Data Scientist, Detection

A principal data scientist in Cloudflare's Detection department, which builds the models and systems that spot automated, fraudulent and malicious traffic across the company's network. The role is based in New York or London.

The data scientist leads research and evaluation of detection models at internet scale, owns how detection quality is measured when ground truth is noisy or delayed, brings new ML and AI techniques into use, mentors others on telling adversaries from legitimate users, and shapes long-term detection strategy with ML engineers, data engineers and product. Cloudflare wants eight to ten years in data science, ML engineering or software engineering, experience detecting fraud, abuse or bots on high-volume traffic, strong applied statistics and ML, and production Python and SQL.
