Security Architect
Accenture Federal Services · Washington, DC
About the role
A senior cybersecurity architect and leader for a large federal enterprise, working in Accenture Federal Services' Cyber Resilience and Defense practice. The role sets cybersecurity strategy and architecture for the client while overseeing delivery across security operations, security engineering, application security, vulnerability management and new AI-based capabilities.
The architect defines and matures the enterprise security architecture against federal mandates and modernisation plans, and advises executives on threats, investment, hybrid and cloud security, AI governance and technical standards. On operations, the work means strengthening detection engineering, incident response, threat hunting and intelligence, with more automation and better visibility. The role leads the rollout of identity, endpoint, network, cloud and data security platforms with Zero Trust as the direction, builds secure-by-design practice and supply chain protection into development pipelines, and runs a risk-based vulnerability programme that blends threat intelligence with business context and uses AI for discovery and remediation. Developing staff and building strong teams are explicitly part of the job.
Accenture wants more than 12 years of cybersecurity experience with leadership across several domains, deep knowledge of SOC operations, incident response, detection, vulnerability management and AppSec, and a record of delivering security programmes at enterprise scale in federal or regulated settings. NIST, RMF, Zero Trust and cloud experience help, as do CISSP, CCSP, GIAC, SABSA or TOGAF. US citizenship without dual nationality, clearance eligibility and up to 25 percent travel are required; the role is based in Washington, DC.
