About the role
A senior, high-ownership security engineer on Censys's small internal security team, owning the identity program, cloud security posture and vulnerability management, and acting as a core incident responder. Application and product security sit with the SRE team.
The engineer cuts standing access and automates joiner-mover-leaver and non-human identity work, hardens a GCP-first environment, runs risk-based vulnerability management using Censys to watch the company's own attack surface, builds detections for identity, cloud and SaaS, secures AI agents and MCP tooling, and ships agentic and Slack-based security automation. Censys wants five or more years in security engineering with depth in two of IAM, cloud security, vulnerability management or detection and response, plus SSO and MFA operations, Python or Go, incident response leadership and hands-on LLM building.
