Security Engineer

About the role
Joins Patreon's small security team, part of the Risk Engineering organisation alongside Safety Engineering and Identity and Access, and works across application, infrastructure and corporate security. The engineer divides time between planned security projects and reactive work such as investigations, vulnerability reports and questions from colleagues, writes code both for security tooling and to harden the platform, and takes a turn in the on-call rotation for incidents.
Patreon wants at least two years reducing security risk, three or more years of depth in one security or adjacent domain, the ability to build a threat model, software skills in Python, Rust or Go, and experience applying AI tools to security problems. The role is remote in the US, or hybrid three days a week in New York or San Francisco.
