Security Scientist

Security scientist at Figma who applies data analysis to the security and safety of Figma's product, platform and internal systems, working with Security Engineering and teams across the company. Can be held from a US hub or remotely in the United States.

The scientist builds datasets and metrics to understand attacker and user behaviour, builds and tunes detections and measures coverage, leads investigations with the data and tooling needed to scope incidents and find root causes, turns threat intelligence into detection priorities, and joins design reviews to find new attack vectors. Figma wants practical understanding of how security, abuse and detection problems play out in the real world, fluent SQL plus Python or R, experience with distributed data systems such as Spark, Presto or Snowflake, and strong statistics and experimental design.
