Senior Director of Cyber Defense
Entrata · Lehi, Utah
About the role
Leads cyber defence at Entrata, owning the company's information security defences, cyber defence strategy and incident response programme. The senior director runs the capabilities that detect, investigate, contain and recover from security events across Entrata's technology estate, and is based in Lehi, Utah, on a hybrid schedule.
The role sets the cyber defence strategy and a multi-year operating roadmap tied to enterprise risk, and acts as incident commander for major incidents, coordinating the technical response through to recovery along with the business decisions involved. It leads detection, alerting and investigation across the stack and maintains playbooks, runbooks, severity levels, decision rights and escalation paths, including hand-offs between regions and time zones. During live incidents the senior director is the executive point of contact for enterprise clients, giving technical briefings, root-cause analyses and remediation updates, and shapes what the company says publicly during a crisis alongside its legal, privacy, communications and customer success teams. Reporting cyber metrics, threat assessments and maturity benchmarks to executives, audit committees and the board, and keeping detection and response aligned with compliance and audit requirements, are also part of the job, as is careful use of approved GenAI tools.
Entrata wants 10 to 15 years in cybersecurity, SOC, incident response or cyber defence, a record of leading and maturing SOC or IR organisations under strict audit and governance, expert incident command, and experience briefing customers' executives during severe incidents. CISSP, CISM or GIAC credentials and cloud SaaS experience are preferred.
