Senior Director, Product Security
Anduril Industries · Costa Mesa, California, United States
About the role
Leads product security across Anduril's business lines, owning the architecture and implementation of security features in and around products that include AI systems, command and control software, aerospace vehicles and long-range sensors. The Senior Director sits in the Product Security group of the Information Security organisation and sets technical security strategy for integrated software and robotics platforms, with mission assurance for military users as the goal.
The posting stresses that this is not a conventional AppSec job: the team protects autonomous machines, AI models deployed on edge devices and robots working in contested settings. The director owns and matures the product security roadmap, leads Product Security teams and partner groups so products can withstand current cyber threats, and agrees with engineering a roadmap that spans the global portfolio. That includes pushing fixes for weaknesses in designs, implementations, integrations and processes, owning the pre-market and post-market security processes engineers use across the product lifecycle, and acting as the trusted adviser to Anduril executives and partners on product security. The role stays hands-on, running complex architecture reviews, researching and countering hardware and software exploits, and building features with engineers.
Anduril wants a leader trained in electrical or software engineering with a platform security focus who has secured embedded or cyber-physical systems, led security engineering teams where failures carry real-world consequences, and still codes in C/C++, Go, Rust or Python. Firmware and embedded assessment, anti-tamper, reverse engineering and secure SDLC experience are expected. Candidates must be U.S. persons eligible for a Top Secret clearance. Based in Costa Mesa.
