Senior Manager, Engineering - Identity & Access Management
ClickUp · United States
About the role
Leads ClickUp's Identity & Access Management Platform team, which builds the layer that governs every user's permissions across the product: the authorization engine and role model, authentication including SSO, MFA, SCIM and OIDC, sharing controls, audit logging and the underlying data model. As ClickUp moves upmarket, enterprise trust depends on this work. The role is remote in the US.
The senior manager has two jobs: delivering an access management platform that is configurable, correct and auditable by design, and building the team to carry it. That means hiring and developing engineers, owning delivery and priorities while a Staff engineer guides technical direction, and setting the roadmap with product, security and engineering leaders. The manager covers SAML and OIDC SSO with Okta and Entra, session and token handling, OAuth and API tokens, and runs reliable on-call and safe migrations for these high-impact services. They meet enterprise customers and represent ClickUp in security and architecture reviews, and run the team in an AI-native way, using agents to replace status meetings and manual reporting.
ClickUp wants eight or more years building production SaaS, three or more managing engineering teams, and hands-on experience delivering authentication and authorization systems with OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, JWTs, SSO, SCIM and RBAC, ideally multi-tenant. Experience with enterprise customers' security requirements, a security-minded approach to access control, and daily use of AI tools are expected.
