About the role
Leads a cross-functional team of eight developers building Ping Identity's next generation of SaaS and hybrid multi-tenant products in identity and access management. The Senior Manager, Software Engineering reports to a Senior Director of Engineering and is involved across the application lifecycle, from requirements through development, testing and delivery.
The manager recruits, trains and develops the team, stays technical through design and code reviews and hands-on contributions to the codebase, and handles forecasting and allocation of budget and people. Working with product management to define requirements is part of the job, as is guiding the team through unexpected production problems; on-call duty may be required.
Ping wants at least five years of directly managing development teams that shipped commercial products, two or more of them leading SaaS teams, experience with Agile planning and CI/CD delivery on commercial cloud, and expertise in Java, Cassandra, Kafka, AWS and Kubernetes or a comparable stack. A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field is expected. The role is based in Austin.
