About the role
A senior software engineer on Cloudflare's Security Platform team, an infrastructure engineering group (not a policy or compliance team) that owns secrets management, internal certificate authorities and PKI, and machine and workload identity for the company's engineers. The role is open in several US cities and Canada, or remote in the US.
The engineer builds and runs distributed secrets and key management systems across Cloudflare's network of more than 310 cities, with current focus on rebuilding internal PKI and workload identity, supports internal developers using these services, advises on secure design of new systems, and joins the on-call rotation. Cloudflare wants software development and distributed systems design skills, Linux administration and a hands-on security background. Cryptography, HSM or TPM experience, Vault or OpenBao, and Go or Python with Salt are pluses.
