Anthropic  ·  Remote-Friendly (Travel-Required) | San Francisco, CA | Seattle, WA | New York City, NY

About the role

One of Anthropic's first dedicated privacy engineers, a senior individual contributor in the Data Infrastructure team who helps found the company's privacy engineering function. The engineer designs privacy-preserving architectures for training and inference at very large scale using techniques such as differential privacy, federated learning and secure multi-party computation, builds data discovery, classification, access control, audit logging and lifecycle tooling, turns GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA and EU AI Act requirements into technical controls, tracks lineage and retention, and leads privacy reviews and threat modelling for new models and features.

Anthropic wants production privacy engineering experience, Python or Go at scale, data governance systems, a working grasp of privacy law, and privacy review or threat modelling. Twelve or more years in software engineering is preferred. Remote-friendly, with travel.
